Eva Wimmers, Senior Vice President – Group Procurement, Deutsche Telekom AG

Eva Wimmers, has been appeva-wimmers-463x285-biointed as Senior Vice President DT Procurement effective October 1st, 2011. Eva is responsible for all regional and segments’ Procurement, the functional strategic solutions and Procurement Operations at Deutsche Telekom. Since January 2013, Eva Wimmers is leading the newly formed procurement organization Group Procurement
(PROC) and is a Supervisory Board Member of T-Systems International GmbH.

Prior to her current role, Eva since January 2007 was Senior Vice President Global Terminal Procurement (Mobile & Fixed Line) at Deutsche Telekom AG (former T-Mobile International AG) after taking over this functional responsibility as Vice President in September 2006. Prior to assuming this role, Eva Wimmers within the past nine years at T-Mobile Germany held various Vice President roles in the Terminal Department – from Portfolio Management & Roll-Out Marketing to Product Marketing and Common Vendor Management.

Joining T-Mobile Germany in 1998, Eva Wimmers worked at E-Plus Service for three years, heading the Key Account Marketing and previously Regional Marketing in Germany West. Other jobs included amongst others Vice President at an international Multimedia Company and at a Wallstreet Investment Fund.

Eva Wimmers has studied in Germany, for five years in the US and Switzerland, holds a Bachelor’s of Law from the Law School of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, a Bachelor’s of Management with an emphasis in Business Administration, as well as a Marketing Certificate from Webster University Geneva, Switzerland.

Abby Semple, FIRED-uP Project Manager, London Fire Brigade

Abby Semple (LL.B. Dub) is an independent procurement consultant with international experience. She is currently working with London Fire Brigade to procure an innovative vehicle telematics system, amongst other projects. Her areas of expertise include EU public procurement law, social, environmental and innovation policy, and supplier engagement. She is the author of commentary on www.procurementanalysis.eu and of procurement guidance published by the European Commission and other international bodies, as well as peer-reviewed articles and a forthcoming book to be published by Oxford University Press on the 2014 directives.

Dr Sam De Silva is a Partner and the Head of Technology and Outsourcing practice at Penningtons Manches LLP. He is also a CIPS Global Board of Trustees. Sam’s main areas of practice is technology and business process outsourcing and technology procurement projects and has been involved in some of the key projects in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. He is the Chairperson on the Law Society’s Technology and Law Reference Group.  The Legal 500 (an independent legal directory) states “Clearly very ‘knowledgeable’, Sam De Silva is ‘commercially aware’ and acts for Domestic & General, Telephonetics, and British Friendly and “Sam is ‘extremely good at explaining complex points to non-legal employees and strong at fighting his corner in negotiations’. Clients of the ‘highly knowledgeable’ team include Fujifilm UK and International Financial Data Services.” Chambers 2013 (another independent directory) states “Clients consider him to be ‘very pragmatic’ while also crediting him with considerable technical expertise”. Since joining in 2006 he has worked closely with BvD’s major clients in risk related business functions including credit risk management and supplier risk management.  Shubeeh holds a BA Hons in European Language and Cultural Studies with French from the University of London.

Tania is the Founding Chairman of three companies specialising in the development of the procurement profession – The Faculty, The Source and Procurious.

The Faculty is recognized as one of Australia’s leading advisors on procurement development. Established twelve years ago, The Faculty works with leading organisations to transform and elevate the role of procurement, build high performance procurement teams and create professional knowledge networks.

Tania’s fascination and commitment to procurement development started around fifteen years ago in the United States. After finishing her MBA at Pennsylvania State University, Tania became one of Alcoa’s first global commodity managers.

Prior to moving to the USA, Tania’s career was focused on marketing roles within Alcoa and Rowland in Australia, and the Walt Disney Company in the UK. Tania has an MBA and a Bachelor of Business.

He is a regular TV, radio, newspaper and industrial journal commentator on procurement and supply management issues, and is also an accomplished speaker on the subject globally. He has a BSc in Economics and an MSc in the Philosophy of Social Science. He has recently completed writing a book on the mutable role and value proposition of supply management in modern business.
